In last year’s course, we examined how the modern suit of clothes developed in the 19th century as a classical work of art. In this sequel, we will summarize that historical development and look more closely at changing attitudes toward the suit in our own lifetimes. We will ask what a suit really is, how it is made, where it is going, and what it all means.
