The turning of the seasons from summer to fall means changing our clothes from linen to wool. Wool was 18th century England’s great export to the world, upon which its international trade was founded. Dressing for the season for the Virginians of the period meant more than a change of clothes, it meant going home. Join the craftspeople and scholars of Colonial Williamsburg to learn how the Virginians of the colonial period dressed for the season of fall, much as we do today, with rich woolens and a mood of joyful expectancy HERE.
