Euripides: Alcestis, Revisited

  • Harvard Center for Hellenic Studies (map)

Please join this week’s Online Reading of Greek Tragedy with Euripides’ dramatic work, “Alcestis.” For the hospitality he showed the god Apollo, King Admetus is granted by the Fates the privilege of living past the allotted time of his death. The gift, however, comes with a price: Admetus must find someone to take his place when Death comes to claim him. Hosted by Joel Christensen, with special guest Maria Xanthou. Presented by the Harvard Center for Hellenic Studies, the Kosmos Society, and the Out of Chaos Theatre. Stream this live and archived video HERE.
