“Comparatism” has become a key issue in Classical Studies, within the ancient Mediterranean world and beyond. This third presentation in the series will feature guest speaker Rohan Sikri, Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Georgia, whose special research areas include ancient Greek and classical Chinese philosophy. Prof. Sikri will examine two texts—Plato’s Phaedrus and the Zhuangzi—to demonstrate how situating Greek and Chinese philosophical models within their respective world views brings out both what is similar and what is different in their approach to philosophical problems.
