The dark transcendentalism of California’s great poet, Robinson Jeffers (1887-1962), played an important role in developing the sensibility of what would become Innermost House. This fine television documentary film was made in 1967, five years after Jeffers’ death. It includes brief glimpses of Jeffers in silent, archival footage, along with interviews at Tor House with Melba Bennett, Donnan Jeffers, Theodore Lilienthal and Dame Judith Anderson. It also features extracts from Jeffers poetry in voice over, whilst dramatic views of the Carmel coastline are shown. This film was written and produced by Caryl Coleman and directed by Dick Williams. Please view this rare film HERE.
